en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 15, India's Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) launched signaling software migration, system integration, and train testing for Mumbai Metro Line 9 Phase 2, involving the integration of the 3 newly added stations in Phase 2 into the already operational Line 9 Phase 1 as well as the Line 2A and Line 7 network. To carry out the tests, from September 15 to 25, the daily morning passenger service hours on Line 2A, Line 7, and Line 9 Phase 1 were temporarily adjusted to 6:30 AM to provide a continuous non-passenger testing window.

This round of work includes signaling software migration for Line 9 Phase 2, integrated signaling system testing and verification, operational coordination between the newly built section and the existing lines, and controlled testing through the Operations Control Center at Charkop Depot. The signaling software used for speed trials in the project has now met testing conditions, and after completing this migration and verification, Phase 2 will continue with speed and train operation testing.

Mumbai Metro Line 9 is an extension project of Line 7. The overall plan for Line 9 and Line 7A published by MMRDA has a total length of 13.581 kilometers, of which 11.386 kilometers are elevated and 2.195 kilometers are underground, with a total of 10 stations. The Dahisar East to Mira-Bhayander section of Line 9 includes stations such as Dahisar, Pandhurang Wadi, Miragaon, Kashigaon, Sai Baba Nagar, Meditiya Nagar, Shahid Bhagat Singh Garden, and Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium.

Among them, the Dahisar East to Kashigaon section of Line 9 Phase 1 is 4.7 kilometers long with 4 stations and was put into operation on April 7, 2026. The 3 newly added stations in Phase 2 need to complete signaling and operational control system integration with the already operational Phase 1 as well as Line 2A and Line 7. The current project stage belongs to system joint debugging and trial operation preparation before commercial operation, rather than formal passenger service.

MMRDA officially issued the "Metro Line 9 Phase 2 Nears Commissioning" announcement on September 13, confirming that Phase 2 has entered the stage of approaching commissioning and operation. This round of special operating hours will continue until September 25, and the next milestone at this stage is to complete signaling system verification, speed trials, and related operational tests.
