en.Wedoany.com Reported - Implenia has been awarded a contract by the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket) to build the Korsvägen station as part of the Västlänken project in Gothenburg, with a contract value exceeding CHF 250 million (approximately EUR 271 million).

The contract covers the construction of the station and the installation of technical systems. Korsvägen station will become a key hub for public transport in Gothenburg, improving access to venues such as Liseberg amusement park, Universeum science museum, and the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre. The Västlänken project will also enhance the capacity of the city's railway system.

Erwin Scherer, Head of Implenia's Civil Engineering division, stated that this project adds significant strength to the company's portfolio of large-scale infrastructure projects in the Nordic region and demonstrates its ability to provide solutions for complex urban transport challenges. Implenia looks forward to collaborating with Trafikverket to successfully realize the construction of Korsvägen station.

In 2024, Trafikverket awarded Implenia a contract for a section of the new Västlänken alignment, which includes building a railway tunnel and the new Haga underground station.
