en.Wedoany.com Reported - Seven new sustainable commercial units have recently been completed at the Normandy Road Business Centre in Bodmin, Cornwall, UK, providing high-quality workspace for local businesses.
Cornwall-based developer Treveth Commercial LLP has completed the development at Walker Lane Industrial Estate, offering 910 square meters of flexible commercial space primarily for light industrial, manufacturing, distribution, and warehousing users.
A launch event was held at the completion ceremony, where project partners, stakeholders, and local businesses were invited to tour the new facilities and learn about the development details.
The business centre, constructed by Poltair Construction, aims to address the growing demand for modern, energy-efficient employment space in Cornwall. The project is supported by the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Good Growth Programme and partially funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
All seven units are suitable for B2/B8 use, offering flexible options for businesses to expand or establish a local presence. Each unit has been built to high standards of sustainability, accessibility, and future adaptability.
The units feature a 6-meter eaves height and an open-plan layout, with each unit equipped with solar photovoltaic panels and electric vehicle charging points. The buildings incorporate energy-efficient design and enhanced insulation, are fitted with roller shutter doors, and include parking and bicycle storage facilities. The units are designed with mezzanine floor potential for future expansion.
Through optimized landscaping and sustainable site design, the development also achieves biodiversity net gain.
Environmental measures were integrated into the construction process, including redesigning the ground-level solution to enable on-site material reuse. This initiative avoided approximately 4,000 cubic meters of soil movement and saved over 5 tonnes of CO2 equivalent emissions.
The completed Normandy Road Business Centre offers new options for businesses seeking sustainable, flexible workspace, while continuing the momentum of investment in Cornwall's commercial infrastructure.
