en.Wedoany.com Reported - Bolivia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the situation at the Pisiga-Colchane border crossing with Chile has significantly improved and is expected to return to normal operations soon. This progress stems from coordinated efforts between the two countries to overcome temporary restrictions previously imposed in the area.

According to Bolivia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, joint operations involving various Bolivian agencies have accelerated land transit, significantly reducing the negative impact on the country's international transport and foreign trade. Based on the latest technical report from border management authorities, the transport route from Chile to Bolivia is fully open with no queues. In the opposite direction, from Bolivia to Chile, congestion has been greatly alleviated, and all pending trucks are expected to be cleared throughout Friday, July 10.
Bolivia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that this improvement is due to bilateral consultations between the two countries, which have increased the number of operational personnel on both sides of the border to provide faster and more efficient services. The Bolivian government reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the continuity of foreign trade and will maintain long-term coordination with Chilean authorities. The Ministry emphasized that information exchange between the two countries will help consolidate the normal functioning of this strategically important border crossing for regional integration and bilateral trade.
Previously, as of July 7, more than 500 Bolivian trucks were stranded at the border due to reduced operating hours at the Colchane Border Complex (Complejo Fronterizo Colchane). Transport operators complained that since July 1, the Chilean border post had suspended night operations, providing services only from 08:00 to 20:00.
