Leapmotor B10 Launches in Mexico, Targeting 6,000 Sales in 2026
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Stellantis has officially launched the electrified vehicle brand Leapmotor in the Mexican market, with plans to capture a 2% share of the local passenger vehicle segment.

Daniel Alejandro González, CEO of Stellantis Mexico, stated that the introduction of the Leapmotor brand represents a new opportunity to bring Asian technology to Mexican consumers, supported by the company's existing industrial, commercial, and after-sales infrastructure in the country. He expressed a desire to create a comprehensive experience spanning from vehicle purchase to after-sales service and used-car trade-in.
The first ultra-hybrid model launched by Leapmotor in Mexico is the B10, which the company claims offers a driving range exceeding 900 kilometers. Jesús Rodríguez, head of Stellantis' commercial division, revealed that two additional models will be introduced within this year, and the brand aims to have more than five to six models by 2027. Leapmotor expects to achieve sales of 6,000 units by the end of 2026, having already delivered more than 600 units in its first month of operations; the sales target for 2027 is 20,000 units. Currently, Leapmotor has 59 sales outlets and 26 investors, with plans to add 80 new sales outlets by 2027, at which point coverage will approach 80% of the national territory.

Beyond product offerings, Stellantis aims to win market share through Leapmotor's differentiated after-sales services managed by Mopar (Stellantis' parts and services division). Jessica Meza, head of Mopar Mexico, explained that Leapmotor's support and infrastructure are reflected in the availability of 1,500 part numbers, which can be distributed through the company's parts and service network. This infrastructure includes a parts distribution center of approximately 45,000 square meters, capable of shipping up to 24,000 parts daily. The customer service system includes specialized engineering and technical support, 24/7 customer service, warranties on vehicles and high-voltage components, and premium roadside assistance. The high-voltage battery warranty covers a period of 8 years or 150,000 kilometers. Stellantis stated that it aims to compete through technology, products, and an integrated solution encompassing financing, infrastructure, services, parts, and used-car residual value.
During the Leapmotor launch event, the B10 model was showcased on a test drive route from Tepic Airport to Vidanta Nuevo Nayarit. The vehicle features leather seats, front power-adjustable seats, ventilation function, 64-color ambient lighting, power-folding exterior mirrors, and a panoramic sunroof with an electric sunshade. Inside, it includes an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.6-inch center touchscreen, supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a built-in dashcam, an intelligent voice assistant, and 4G and WiFi connectivity. Its ultra-hybrid technology (Ultra Híbrida) is paired with an 18.8 kWh LFP battery, offering a maximum pure electric range of 98 kilometers and a combined range of up to 990 kilometers. In terms of performance, the 215-horsepower (160 kW) electric motor, 240 Nm of torque, and rear-wheel drive perform well on the road, complemented by seven airbags and 17 ADAS driver assistance systems.
