Brazil's ANTT Approves R$5.1 Million Investment for BR-050 Highway
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Brazil's National Land Transport Agency (ANTT) has authorized the 13th special review of the BR-050 highway concession contract, confirming a R$5.1 million investment by concessionaire Ecovias Minas Goiás, priced as of March 2012, for interventions on the highway. The company is responsible for the concession of the BR-050 highway stretching from Goiás state to the border between Minas Gerais and São Paulo states.

Of the investment package, R$2.15 million is allocated to expanding 4G connectivity along the BR-050, with 31 telephone points to be installed; R$1.86 million is designated for land acquisition costs during the second through tenth years of the concession period.
An additional R$1.03 million is earmarked for emergency restoration of pavement and signage on the urban stretch of Uberaba (Minas Gerais) between kilometers 178.350 and 179.500, with the intervention carried out prior to the official handover of the stretch to the concessionaire. Furthermore, R$83,800 is allocated for installing an elevator at the Federal Highway Police (PRF) station at kilometer 42 in Araguari (Minas Gerais), in response to a court ruling on accessibility.
The aforementioned amounts include administrative costs calculated at 3.79% of the direct cost of each intervention. ANTT states that the economic-financial rebalancing will have a 2.01% impact on the accumulated base toll rate in the contract's marginal cash flow, and the related amounts will be incorporated into toll rates together with the 11th regular review of the contract.
The concession covers 436.6 kilometers of the BR-050 highway, with a 30-year contract term, currently in its 13th year.
