en.Wedoany.com Reported - Fertilizer producer Mosaic announced on Wednesday that it has taken temporary measures to reduce production at some of its phosphate operations in Brazil, citing a global supply reduction and rising raw material sulfur prices. In a statement, Mosaic said the duration of these measures is uncertain but emphasized that they are temporary in nature and do not represent a change in the company's long-term strategy.

Mosaic plans to extend the temporary shutdown of its Tapira and Catalão production units and gradually place the Uberaba complex under maintenance and care from September. In its fertilizer blending operations, the Candeias and Catalão plants will be temporarily closed, while production at the Palmeirante and Sorriso units will be reduced. Mosaic stated that these measures in the fertilizer blending operations may impact the workforce.

The company cited "a situation characterized by geopolitical instability, disruptions in international shipping routes, growing global demand, and significant pressure on sulfur costs."
