en.Wedoany.com Reported - TikTok on Friday (10th) released a series of measures to enhance the transparency of artificial intelligence-generated content, and announced that the platform has cumulatively marked 3 billion videos identified as AI-generated content (AIGC) over two years.
Currently, content on the video platform is categorized into three types, with corresponding labels displayed to users: original content (non-AIGC), enhanced content (slightly modified by AI), and pure AIGC content (material entirely generated by AI). These labels are automatically applied through identification tools, invisible watermarks, and C2PA content credentials. C2PA is a consortium comprising companies such as Meta, OpenAI, Adobe, and Google, dedicated to developing technical standards to help users identify AIGC content.
The company also confirmed that it is testing a "Manage Platform Topics" feature, which allows users to choose how much AIGC content appears in their feeds. Regarding spam, the ByteDance-owned company revealed that it will test improvements in the coming weeks targeting accounts that use AI to generate spam, particularly focusing on topics such as financial advice, current events, politics, and health, which pose risks to public trust and well-being.
TikTok also confirmed a series of other initiatives: joining the C2PA board; investing $4 million to create AI literacy programs in collaboration with expert organizations such as No Filtr and the Raspberry Pi Foundation; and launching in-app practical guides and centers to help users identify AIGC content. These actions focus on educating users and combating AI-generated spam on the platform, with the core goal of empowering users with more control.
In its statement, the video platform reiterated that spam is prohibited, noting that it removed 86 million such accounts in the first quarter of this year alone. The platform also emphasized that it bans the use of AI-generated images of minors and the unauthorized use of others' images.
