en.Wedoany.com Reported - Iljin Electric announced on the 10th that it has won a bid for a strategic ultra-high voltage transmission network capacity expansion project connecting eastern and southeastern regions of the UK, undertaking part of the 400 kV ultra-high voltage underground transmission line section, with a bid amount of approximately 84.5 billion won (about 41.77 million pounds).

The project, spanning 180 kilometers in total, aims to stably transmit large-scale offshore wind power generated in the eastern England region to the densely populated southeastern region with high electricity demand, making it a core grid capacity expansion project. An Iljin Electric official stated that this bid win reflects the recognition of the company's technical capabilities and quality reputation in the UK power market, which has high entry barriers and strict standards. The company said it will actively participate in bidding for previously announced large-scale European grid expansion projects and expand its market presence across Europe.
