en.Wedoany.com Reported - To address signal connectivity issues during vehicle operation, MediaTek is building a comprehensive vehicle communication technology matrix from the edge to the cloud, covering both terrestrial networks and satellite communications, with the goal of keeping connections always online.

To address the coverage limitations of terrestrial networks, MediaTek has introduced a 5G NR NTN satellite video call solution. This technology extends traditional terrestrial network coverage through NR NTN, enabling high-speed satellite communication capabilities such as video streaming, app usage, and internet access under specific network conditions. At this year's Beijing Auto Show, MediaTek showcased a new generation of vehicle connectivity solutions that integrate advanced 5G technology with satellite communications. Its flagship connectivity platform, MT2739, supports 5G-Advanced communication technology and is compatible with NB-NTN and NR-NTN satellite technologies, offering an advanced satellite video call experience.

To maintain continuous connectivity, MediaTek has developed a vehicle connectivity solution that integrates 5G, satellite communications, Wi-Fi 8, and dual Bluetooth technologies. This solution enhances network compatibility through support for industry-standard protocols. The MT2739 platform is compatible with the 3GPP R18 standard protocol, and the new vehicle communication chipset also supports 5G-Advanced R17 and R18 standards. This helps automakers quickly adapt their products to various communication regulations in global markets, supporting their international expansion.

In addition to supporting 5G-Advanced standards, the new vehicle communication chipset integrates modem-level AI functions to improve connection stability and performance. The high performance and low latency characteristics of its 5G-A technology, combined with a three-transmit antenna system (3Tx) and dual SIM dual active technology, meet the technical requirements of L3/L4 ADAS. For in-vehicle networks, MediaTek plans to introduce next-generation Wi-Fi 8 technology, which is expected to achieve a 2x increase in data throughput, a 50% reduction in power consumption, and a more than 25% decrease in network latency compared to the previous generation. Dual Bluetooth technology will enrich the in-vehicle device connectivity experience.

From 5G-Advanced to satellite communications, from Wi-Fi 8 to dual Bluetooth, and from AI-powered communication capabilities to intelligent cockpit computing platforms, MediaTek is building a complete technology matrix covering the edge to the cloud.

In the era of AI-defined vehicles, connectivity is key to supporting the continuous evolution of intelligent vehicle experiences, requiring always-on, high-quality connections.
