en.Wedoany.com Reported - Valmet will deliver a complete board production line to Sun Paper's plant in Nanning, China, including automation systems and lifecycle support services, aimed at increasing corrugated board production capacity and ensuring reliable, energy-efficient, and resource-efficient operation.

Valmet and Sun Paper

The production line includes a complete board machine from headbox to reel, utilizing sleeve roll technology for efficient dewatering in the forming section. Valmet states that this technology enables intelligent energy use and achieves superior quality parameters by utilizing forming fabric compression. The drying section of the board machine features a compact geometry design, equipped with superior runnability systems and high machine performance, enabling efficient board drying. The delivery scope also includes spare parts, digital services, and paper machine clothing, along with improvements to the customer's existing equipment. The entire production line is scheduled to start up in autumn 2027.

Ying Guangdong, Deputy General Manager and Chief Engineer of Sun Paper, stated that the high-capacity machine concept and selected advanced technologies support the company's goal of energy-efficient and stable production. They expect these solutions to achieve strong performance while reducing energy consumption and ensuring production targets. He also mentioned that the company values its long-term partnership with Valmet and looks forward to continuing collaboration through this new project.

In other board packaging news, earlier this year, Mondi partnered with Pacapime Hungary to provide high-quality corrugated packaging for shipping fresh produce to customers in Central and Eastern Europe. Mondi stated that its ProVantage SmartKraft Brown corrugated board grade uses a 100% fresh fiber top layer, ensuring high surface integrity and consistent quality. In May this year, Holmen added fresh-fibre fluting to its ultra-lightweight board series, a product designed to reduce material consumption and emissions without compromising performance. This solution is expected to open a unified approach to lightweighting, starting with a grammage of 72 gsm.
