en.Wedoany.com Reported - Companhia Catarinense de Águas e Saneamento (Casan) has won the concession for public water supply and sewage treatment services in the city of Timbo, Brazil, with a bid of R$60 million. The auction was held on July 10 at B3, the Brazilian stock exchange, and was executed by the Municipal Autonomous Service for Water Supply and Sewage (SAMAE).

The concession term is 35 years, and the project scope covers the comprehensive provision of water supply and sewage services, including the operation, maintenance, expansion, and investments required for the modernization of urban sanitation infrastructure.
The concession agreement also stipulates the achievement of goals for expanded coverage, universalization, and service quality as defined by Brazil's Legal Framework for Sanitation (Marco Legal do Saneamento). This initiative will help expand residents' access to basic sanitation services, improve public health indicators, protect the environment, and promote sustainable development in Timbo.
Timbo Mayor Flávio Germano Buzzi emphasized that Casan today is a different company, having undergone a modernization process, expanded investments, and committed to improving efficiency across the state. He expressed confidence in the work being carried out by Governor Jorginho Mello, believing that this partnership will ensure progress in water supply and sewage treatment in Timbo in the coming years.
Mônica Salles Lanna, B3's Auction Manager, stated that B3 is very proud to help quality public projects find private investors, just like this one, which can significantly improve local environmental quality and basic sanitation efficiency. She once again thanked the Timbo city government for its trust and cooperation, as the city conducted its first auction through a joint auction with B3.
