Portugal's Gebalis invests €4.9 million to complete public housing renovation in three Lisbon communities

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Gebalis, the company responsible for managing public housing in Lisbon, Portugal, has announced the completion of renovation works for over 700 municipal housing residents in the communities of Sargento Abílio, Alto da Faia, and Olivais Velho, with a total investment exceeding €4.9 million. These three projects are part of the company's "Morar Melhor" (Better Living) urban renewal program, aimed at promoting the systematic renovation of municipal housing assets.

Under this program, 264 homes across 22 municipal buildings have been renovated. The conservation works include repairing facades and roofs, and replacing window frames and shutters to optimize the buildings' energy efficiency and durability. In the Sargento Abílio community, the contract value exceeded €2.7 million, renovating 101 homes across 14 buildings, benefiting approximately 280 residents. The works covered the repair and conservation of roofs, facades, window frames, and shutters.

In the Alto da Faia community, 136 homes across six buildings were renovated with an investment of €1.7 million, benefiting 381 residents; the works included repairing roofs and facades, and replacing window frames. The budget for the Olivais Velho community project was approximately €474,000, focusing on the maintenance, repair, and restoration of two buildings, involving 27 homes housing 76 people. The renovation concentrated on roof and facade repairs, window frame replacement, and improvements to common areas and infrastructure.

Launched in June 2023, the "Morar Melhor" program plans to renovate 33 municipal communities with an overall budget of €142 million, with all works required to be completed by the end of this year.
