en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Chilean Copper Commission (Cochilco) and the National Tax Service (SII) jointly hosted a seminar for representatives of mining companies operating in Chile, titled "Benefits of Advance Pricing Agreements (APAs)."

Held at the headquarters of the National Mining Society (Sonami), the event aimed to present the main features and advantages of advance pricing agreements. This tool allows for the predetermined determination of valuation methods applicable to transactions between related parties, thereby providing greater legal certainty, streamlining procedures, and helping to prevent double taxation.
During the meeting, Karina Ochoa, Head of the Audit Department at Cochilco, presented the institution's responsibilities in verifying whether declared export values for copper and its by-products align with international market conditions. This work is carried out through the analysis of export contracts and Price Variation Reports (IVV).
Carolina Saravia, Deputy Head of the Audit Department at the National Tax Service, presented the main aspects of the advance pricing agreement system, as well as the benefits this mechanism offers to tax authorities and companies engaged in international operations.
Cochilco stated that the event reflects the collaboration between Cochilco and SII, aimed at strengthening inter-institutional coordination, promoting tax compliance, and providing tools that enhance certainty and transparency in the mining sector. In this context, they emphasized that advance pricing agreements serve as a tool to foster a more predictable relationship between companies and tax authorities, offering legal certainty, process efficiency, and more favorable conditions to facilitate the development of international business in the mining industry.
