en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 13, 2026, Windcat signed a long-term crew transfer vessel service contract with Ørsted to support the operation of Ørsted's offshore wind farms based in Grimsby, UK.

Ørsted's Generation UK Hub operates and maintains six offshore wind farms from the Royal Dock in Grimsby, providing green electricity to millions of homes and businesses. The agreement took effect in June, with a fixed term of five years and an option for extension.

All seven vessels are already in operation for Ørsted's UK projects. Unlike previous agreements that included extension options, Ørsted has chosen to enter into a new long-term contract for the entire Windcat fleet, reflecting confidence in Windcat's operational performance, safety standards, and service delivery. These vessels have been working at offshore wind farms near Grimsby, demonstrating that the combination of medium and large vessels offers strong performance, value, reliability, and safety.

Willem van der Wel, Managing Director of Windcat Workboats, stated: Ørsted's long-term commitment to chartering seven vessels to support its UK hub is a testament to the high level of service provided by the company. The seven vessels include four 12-seat boats and three high-performance 24-seat boats, forming a versatile fleet that ensures high accessibility and flexibility. This partnership supports the continued delivery of safe, reliable, and efficient offshore operations.

These contracts further solidify the long-standing partnership between Windcat and Ørsted. Mark Hickson, Nearshore Lead for Ørsted's UK Generation Hub, said: Ørsted has a long-standing partnership with Windcat, and we are pleased to extend this collaboration through these seven vessels. This extension reinforces our (Ørsted's) commitment to safe, efficient operations and the delivery of clean energy to communities across the UK.
