The company's industrial lithium extraction technology has been validated, with the adsorbent confirmed effective in actual production. Lithium will be extracted from local oilfields in Tatarstan as well as from production facilities outside the republic. Maganov emphasized that the company has already initiated the extraction of associated components from its own wells and has achieved tangible results.

In May of this year, Tatneft showcased advanced research and development achievements for oil extraction at the "Exploration and Production" May Summit held in the Aznakayevo District, including a lithium extraction unit operating at a booster pump station. Additionally, Russia's Gazprom Neft announced in June of this year the launch of a pilot project for extracting lithium from associated water. The company plans, with support from regional authorities, to achieve organized extraction of lithium from produced water at the Orenburg oil and gas condensate field by 2028, followed by the preparation of engineering documentation and the determination of the optimal technical solution and site for production facilities.
