China's XPeng Plans Global Launch of IRON Robot Next Year, Monthly Production Target Exceeds 1,000 Units by End of This Year

Sources say XPeng is striving to increase the monthly production capacity of the IRON robot to over 1,000 units by the end of this year, paving the way for a global rollout in 2027.

XPeng also plans to first deploy the IRON as a shopping assistant in its domestic direct-sale stores in the first quarter of 2027, and expand this service to overseas stores later that year.

In November 2025, XPeng unveiled its next-generation IRON humanoid robot, touted as "the most human-like humanoid robot." In February this year, XPeng Motors signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the People's Government of Tianhe District, Guangzhou, with a full-chain mass production base for XPeng's humanoid robot set to land at the Embodied Intelligence Industrial Park in Guangtang Science and Innovation City.

XPeng Group Chairman He Xiaopeng stated at the company's first-quarter earnings call at the end of May that the software and hardware development of the new-generation IRON humanoid robot for the mass production version is progressing smoothly and is about to enter the ET2 software and hardware integration phase. It is planned to officially debut in the third quarter of this year, with the goal of achieving mass production of high-level humanoid robots by the end of this year.

He Xiaopeng revealed that starting next year, hardware revenue and AI model revenue from humanoid robots will be one of the key drivers of revenue and gross profit growth for XPeng Group.
