en.Wedoany.com Reported - Canadian exploration company Auriginal is ramping up exploration at its Roger project, continuing to assess the copper-gold porphyry (Cu-Au) system potential and identified volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) mineralization in the area after adding a second drill rig to expand the scope of work. The company also plans to launch a new $2 million definition drilling campaign upon completion of current work and receipt of pending results.

Drilling to date has confirmed that the Roger porphyry system extends continuously to the southwest, with a strike length of at least 750 meters and a vertical depth of 525 meters. Completed study results also support the presence of gold-bearing VMS horizons above the copper-gold porphyry zone.

Auriginal CEO Peter Cashin stated that the drilling work has deepened understanding of the project's potential. He noted that current drilling supports the presence of a larger copper-gold porphyry resource below the deepest historical drill hole at the Roger deposit, and confirms the existence of a gold-rich VMS horizon above.

The company also disclosed sample assay results obtained to date, which show mineralized intersections of gold, silver, copper, and zinc in both the VMS zone and porphyry system. Notable results include a gold grade of 4.01 g/t over a 2.8-meter interval, along with other intersections containing associated copper-gold values within the assessed area.

As the next phase of the project, Auriginal plans to launch an expanded definition drilling program in late summer to early autumn. This phase will focus on expanding Roger's historical resource and obtaining more information on mineralized zones identified in recent work.

Cashin explained that Phase 1 drilling results have confirmed intervals with porphyry-type mineralization characteristics in different drill holes, while new areas within the project remain to be assessed. He noted that all drill holes show favorable porphyry-type mineralization, which characterizes the historical copper-gold resource at Roger, which remains open below and to the southwest of the current deposit boundary. Due to the success of Phase 1 drilling at Roger, the company has allocated an additional $2 million for subsequent definition drilling to upgrade the historical resource at the deposit to the inferred category.

Additionally, subsequent work will continue to focus on assessing the VMS system potential located at the top and south of the Roger copper-gold deposit, as the company seeks to identify new areas that may contain economic mineralization.
