en.Wedoany.com Reported - UK housebuilder Persimmon Homes West Scotland has submitted a planning application to Glasgow City Council for 139 homes on Boydstone Road, near the Silverburn shopping centre in Glasgow. The site is adjacent to the M77 motorway, and Persimmon has delivered approximately 500 homes in the area since 2016, with strong market reception.

Persimmon Homes is one of the leading housebuilders in the UK, operating across England, Scotland, and Wales, specializing in developing residential communities of various sizes. The proposed 139 homes include two-bedroom, three-bedroom, and four-bedroom layouts. The project will include 175 parking spaces, 36 of which are visitor spaces, along with a planned open space.

In the planning documents, Persimmon stated that the development is "a reasonable opportunity to continue the momentum of residential construction in the area." The project vision is "to create a high-quality, attractive living environment that echoes the established area to the north." The planning documents note that "based on planning history and the surrounding context, the site is considered suitable for development."

Silverburn shopping centre is one of the main retail destinations in southern Glasgow, and the surrounding area has experienced continuous residential development in recent years. Persimmon's sustained presence in the area since 2016 reflects the steady growth in demand for housing in the southern suburbs of Glasgow. If approved, the proposed 139 homes will further expand the scale of the residential community in the area. The application is currently under review by Glasgow City Council.
