en.Wedoany.com Reported - Puerto de Quequén in Argentina recently released its operational data for the first half of 2026, reporting a total cargo throughput of 3,744,726 tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.62%, with 154 ship calls. During the period, new product categories were added, leading to adjustments in the cargo structure, while overall operations remained stable.

Among traditional export categories, soybean exports, as a major product, declined by 36.3% in the first half, but growth in other agricultural products offset this impact. Wheat exports increased by 32.6%, feed barley by 28%, and sunflower seeds by 212.4%, collectively supporting the total cargo volume.
The port's business scope also expanded, adding cargo such as anchor chains related to oil and gas development activities in Vaca Muerta, venturing beyond traditional agricultural exports.
Changes also occurred in the operator rankings: Bunge Argentina S.A. replaced Viterra as the leading cargo operator, followed by Cofco International and the Asociación de Cooperativas Argentinas. Gear S.A. and E-GRAIN S.A. newly entered the top ten operator list.
Port management stated that these results reflect the terminal's adaptability. Historically focused on grain and by-product transportation, Puerto de Quequén is now expanding toward diversified commodities and new production sectors.
