en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 17, Cambodia Angkor Air (Air Cambodia) and the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) officially signed a procurement agreement for 20 C909 aircraft in Shanghai.

The State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) of Cambodia and COMAC simultaneously signed a memorandum of understanding to ensure the successful operation of the C909 aircraft and further deepen cooperation in areas such as civil aviation infrastructure, operational support, talent development, and maintenance training. This signing marks Cambodia Angkor Air as the first foreign flag carrier to purchase Chinese C909 aircraft in bulk.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed support for the various initiatives and strategic plans jointly formulated by COMAC, the SSCA, and Cambodia Angkor Air to cultivate talent and enhance the modernization, regional, and global competitiveness of Cambodia's civil aviation industry. Hun Manet also emphasized that relevant ministries and agencies of the Cambodian government will provide comprehensive support for the operation of COMAC's C909 aircraft.
The first batch of C909 aircraft is scheduled to be delivered to Cambodia Angkor Air in phases starting in the second half of 2026 and will be put into operation.
