en.Wedoany.com Reported - Quimbaya Gold (CSE:QIM) is accelerating geological mapping, rock and channel sampling, and structural interpretation at its newly discovered Tahami Southeast gold target in the Segovia region of Colombia.
The company reported that rock sample assays from quartz vein semi-outcrops at the target returned up to 59.40 grams per tonne gold and 52.30 grams per tonne silver. The target is adjacent to the gold mining operations of Aris Mining (TSX:ARIS).
Preliminary mapping and exploration have identified at least two exploration zones within an alteration zone of approximately one square kilometer.
CEO Alexandre Boivin stated that the company has drilled the southern part of Tahami and is defining the gold-silver vein system, confirmed the copper-molybdenum-gold porphyry deposit at Tahami Center, and now added a third target at Tahami Southeast, adjacent to Aris Mining.
He noted that a one-square-kilometer alteration zone, visible gold in streams, and rock sample grades of up to 59.4 grams per tonne gold are early signals requiring rigorous follow-up.
Vice President of Exploration Ricardo Sierra stated that the structures and setting at Tahami Southeast are typical of epithermal vein systems associated with the Segovia gold deposit, and he recommended that the company advance systematic geological mapping and sampling programs to identify and define drill targets.
Quimbaya Gold is a Colombia-focused exploration company with a portfolio of over 73,000 hectares in the mineral belts of the Antioquia Department, Colombia.
