The construction, carried out by Yuwon Electric Co., Ltd., will upgrade the old equipment to the latest models.

Construction on Yeonsan Tunnel will take place from the 20th to July 24th. To avoid severe congestion during rush hours, work will be divided into two shifts: daytime construction from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and nighttime construction from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next day. The office plans to shorten the overall construction period by conducting two shifts daily, but some lanes will be restricted during daytime work, so drivers passing through the area should be cautious.

Replacement work on Daechi Tunnel is scheduled from July 27th to August 14th, after the completion of Yeonsan Tunnel construction. Given the extremely high daytime traffic volume in Daechi Tunnel, construction will be limited to nighttime hours only, with restrictions from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the next day, totaling 8 hours, aiming to minimize inconvenience to citizens' daily commutes through late-night work. Both tunnels will operate with partial lane restrictions rather than full closures, allowing vehicles to pass through.

Busan City has decided not to conduct construction on public holidays and weekends, focusing only on weekdays to eliminate inconvenience for citizens traveling on weekends. On-site safety managers will be deployed to prevent accidents in restricted areas.

Jin Bong-sang (진봉상), Director of the Busan City Construction Safety Testing Office, emphasized that to minimize inconvenience to citizens, the work will be completed safely and quickly, with efforts to shorten the traffic control period as much as possible, and he hopes for citizens' cooperation and understanding regarding the traffic restrictions.
