en.Wedoany.com Reported - On July 17, the welding of the heating surface for Unit 1 boiler of the Guyuan Pengyang 660MW project officially commenced, laying the foundation for subsequent boiler hydrostatic tests and the unit's scheduled commissioning.

The boiler heating surface, the heat exchange core of the unit, includes key systems such as water walls, superheaters, and economizers. The entire boiler involves a vast number of supervised welds, with stringent welding process standards, making this one of the critical procedures in boiler construction. The Unit 1 boiler, which has commenced welding, involves over 55,000 supervised welds.

To ensure a smooth start to the welding, the project department prepared a specialized work plan in advance, organized multi-level safety and technical briefings for relevant teams, and detailed the complete workflow from welding process plans, spectral re-inspection, and preheating before welding to post-weld heat preservation and quality acceptance. The site is equipped with wind and rain protection shelters, constant temperature heat treatment equipment, and non-destructive testing instruments, with standardized management of welding cables, electrode drying and storage, and scrap material segregation. Additionally, the project department has established a four-tier quality control system—"team self-inspection, work area re-inspection, project department special inspection, and supervision side station"—implementing closed-loop supervision over pipe material quality, groove processing, welding environment, and post-weld inspection.

Moving forward, the project department will take this commencement of heating surface welding as a new starting point, continuously optimize construction organization, coordinate the efficient allocation of manpower, machinery, and materials, reinforce safety production responsibilities, refine the cross-construction plan for welding, heat treatment, and non-destructive testing, and steadily advance the welding tasks for the entire boiler heating surface, striving for the project's early completion and commissioning.
