en.Wedoany.com Reported - Emirates' latest schedule shows that A380 flights from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to five global destinations have been postponed to at least October.
Additionally, the Gulf aviation giant has significantly reduced frequencies on seven other routes for September travel, cutting one daily flight per route, with double-decker services halved on several routes. Emirates may make further adjustments in the next schedule update.
Glasgow International Airport (GLA) and Prague Václav Havel Airport (PRG) have not seen this aircraft type since March. According to Cirium Diio data, looking ahead to September, GLA will remain the only UK airport without A380 service. By then, all other UK airports, except London Gatwick, are expected to restore the same frequencies as in the same month last year.
Copenhagen Airport (CPH) and Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) currently still have A380 operations, but the aircraft type will no longer be present from September. Compared to the same month last year, IAH will become the only US airport among those where Emirates typically deploys the A380 to lack this aircraft type. The Boeing 777-200LR will temporarily operate the IAH route, becoming Emirates' longest non-stop 200LR service. After the aircraft change, the IAH route will lose 43% of its typical daily seat capacity, which helps improve the route's low load factor, and first class will not be available in September.

Before the latest adjustments, Emirates planned to halve its two daily A380 flights from DXB to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport (AMS), Moscow Domodedovo Airport (DME), Munich Airport (MUC), and Zurich Airport (ZRH). In September, these four airports will retain only one daily A380 flight, with some original flights replaced by the Boeing 777-300ER.
The DXB to Moscow route is noteworthy, with a large local market and approximately 1 million passengers last year. Emirates and its narrow-body partner flydubai operate a significant number of flights, and Aeroflot also serves this route. In September, the two Emirates carriers plan to operate nine to ten daily flights to the Russian capital. Emirates will use the A380 and 777-300ER for three daily flights to DME, while flydubai will operate six to seven daily flights to Moscow Vnukovo Airport using the Boeing 737 MAX 8. This massive capacity is partly attributed to sanctions on Russia due to the Ukraine war and the inability of passengers to fly between Russia and most European countries via other airlines.

For Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD), and Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), before the adjustments, Emirates planned four daily A380 flights to BKK (one via Hong Kong with fifth freedom rights), three daily flights to SYD and SIN. In September, the DXB-BKK route will have three daily A380 flights, SYD will be reduced to two, and SIN will have only one daily flight. SIN still plans three daily A380 flights from October through the end of the Northern Hemisphere winter, but whether this plan will materialize remains to be seen. October is also when Etihad Airways plans to resume A380 flights to the Lion City, while Qatar Airways last did so in March this year, and Singapore Airlines has shelved plans to use this aircraft type on the DXB route.
