en.Wedoany.com Reported - Lightning Minerals (ASX:L1M) has completed the second phase of exploration at the Warby Tungsten Project in North Queensland, Australia, with assay results expected to be announced in August.

The company had identified high-priority tungsten targets during Phase 1 work and collected approximately 90 soil, stream sediment, and rock chip samples in Phase 2. Lightning Minerals is currently reviewing the data, and samples will be submitted to ALS Laboratories in Townsville, Queensland, for tungsten and multi-element analysis.

In addition to sampling, the Phase 2 program includes detailed geological mapping and systematic sampling within a structural corridor approximately 2 kilometers long. This corridor is centered on historical tungsten workings associated with the contact zone of the Angor Granite.

Managing Director Troy Brice stated that the completion of Phase 2 work marks another significant milestone for the Warby Project. This work has provided a more robust geological dataset, offering insights into the scale, strike, and continuity of the tungsten mineralized system.

The Warby Phase 2 program is based on exploration results from May and June 2026, which confirmed tungsten mineralization associated with wolframite-bearing quartz veins developed near the Angor Granite. Brice noted that tungsten's status as a strategically important critical mineral continues to strengthen, supported by demand from the defense, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing sectors. The company looks forward to receiving assay results and integrating them with field observations to determine the direction for Phase 3 and initial drilling targets.

Upon receiving the results, Lightning Minerals plans to complete data interpretation, integrate assay results with structural mapping and historical exploration data, rank anomalies, and finalize the Phase 3 program and initial drilling targets. Lightning Minerals is an Australian exploration and development company focused on advancing gold and copper assets in Tier 1 mining jurisdictions.
