en.Wedoany.com Reported - Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, and Naver Board Chairman Lee Hae-jin are scheduled to meet again with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and other artificial intelligence (AI) industry executives near Silicon Valley in the United States on July 24.

The meeting is expected to invite OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei. If realized, this would mark the first time that leaders of top companies across various sectors of the global AI market gather together.

This meeting of Korean and U.S. AI industry leaders comes about 40 days after the "Pork Belly Dinner" held in early June in Seoul, with Chey Tae-won and Lee Hae-jin meeting Huang again in less than two months. If Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong's meeting with Huang takes place, it will be the first in nine months since the "Fried Chicken and Beer Meeting" during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit last October.

Samsung Electronics and SK hynix have become core supply partners for Nvidia across the entire memory semiconductor sector, including high-bandwidth memory (HBM) and low-power double data rate (LPDDR) DRAM. Amid a sustained memory supply crisis, Nvidia needs to strengthen its alliance with Samsung Electronics and SK hynix to ensure smooth supply and demand.

Given that OpenAI and Anthropic, which may attend, maintain close partnerships with Samsung Electronics and SK hynix, the discussion topics are drawing significant attention. For Anthropic, known for its generative AI model "Claude," Samsung Electronics, SK hynix, and Micron participated as "strategic infrastructure partners" in an investment in May.

Since Samsung Electronics is the only one among the three memory companies operating a foundry business, early predictions have suggested that Anthropic may entrust production of its own AI chips to Samsung Electronics' foundry in the future. Samsung Electronics previously won an order for Nvidia's new AI inference-dedicated chip, the "Groq3 Language Processing Unit (LPU)," and is reportedly discussing collaboration with Anthropic based on a 2-nanometer (nm) process.

The meeting may also propose a blueprint to alleviate concerns about a semiconductor "peak." Additionally, as part of three mega-projects, South Korea has decided to build AI data centers nationwide worth over 1,000 trillion won (approximately $671 billion), and discussions are expected on procuring AI chips from Nvidia for server construction. Due to current shortages of Nvidia's AI chips causing delivery delays, Korean companies are being urged to secure supply in advance.

Naver is expected to participate in discussions on building an AI factory, which combines AI models and cloud technology with GPU servers, data centers, and power and cooling facilities to support large-scale AI computing.
