en.Wedoany.com Reported - Jilin Petrochemical Company's 450,000-ton/year gaseous carbon dioxide recovery project completed its mid-delivery acceptance on July 20, transitioning from the construction phase to the commissioning phase.
This project is a key initiative of PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical Company in response to the strategic deployment of carbon peak and carbon neutrality. It adopts the PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) process to capture and recover carbon dioxide from the synthetic ammonia unit and the newly built asphalt gasification unit. The captured CO2 will be used for underground oil displacement in Jilin Oilfield.
The project is designed with a CO2 recovery rate of no less than 85% and a product CO2 purity of 98.5%. It is being constructed in two phases. The first phase, a 350,000-ton/year gaseous CO2 recovery project, completed its mid-delivery acceptance on May 20, 2026. The second phase, which has now completed mid-delivery acceptance, mainly includes the raw material unit, PSA unit, product unit, and related supporting facilities, covering a building area of 2,679.8 square meters, with a total investment of 145 million yuan.

During the project construction, all participating units adhered to the principles of safety first and quality foremost. Through scientific coordination and meticulous management, they strictly controlled each construction milestone and scrutinized every process and detail, ensuring the steady progress of civil works, installation, and other construction tasks, and completing all construction phases on schedule.
After entering the commissioning phase, the project will focus on rectifying issues identified during the "three checks, four fixes" process for the unit, investigating each item and closing out the loop, laying the foundation for a successful one-time startup and long-term stable operation of the unit.
