en.Wedoany.com Reported - The State Department of Education of Amapá (Secretaria de Estado da Educação do Amapá, or Seed) has completed the installation of Starlink satellite internet in 22 state-run Indigenous schools in Oiapoque, bringing high-speed connectivity to the region. The mobile installation operation took place from July 13 to 18, covering the Indigenous territories of the municipality, with corresponding technical support.

This initiative, named "Mobile Operation," aims to improve teaching, administrative, and professional training activities in Indigenous communities by expanding internet access. Equipment installation was carried out by ViaDireta, the technical provider of satellite internet services for these schools. According to statistics, approximately 1,900 students enrolled in state-run Indigenous schools in Oiapoque can now use high-speed internet on campus, expanding their access to educational platforms, digital content, and research tools, while strengthening digital inclusion.

According to Maxwara dos Santos Cardoso, from the Karipuna people, manager of the Indigenous Education Center (Núcleo de Educação Indígena) at Seed, internet connectivity helps alleviate difficulties faced by schools located far from the department's headquarters in Macapá. He noted that the internet will support administrative work, the completion of the School Census (Censo Escolar), and the use of the Proesc system. For students, they can use the internet for research and educational tools, such as Chromebook laptops provided by the Amapá state government. Participants in the operation included Cardoso, manager of the Indigenous Education Center at Seed; Diego Viana de Almeida, staff member of the Coordination of Specific Education (Coordenadoria de Educação Específica, CEESP/Seed); and Ladimir Corrêa Nascimento, a technician from ViaDireta responsible for installing the satellite internet equipment.
