en.Wedoany.com Reported - Delectrik Systems will deploy India's first 100 MWh utility-scale vanadium redox flow battery project. The project has been awarded by NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Ltd), with Delectrik partnering with Bondada Engineering to win the bid.

NTPC is India's largest integrated power utility, with an installed capacity exceeding 90 GW and a target of reaching 149 GW by 2032, including a renewable energy capacity target of 60 GW.
The project utilizes Delectrik's non-containerized flow battery product architecture, designed for large-scale industrial and utility applications. The system will be deployed at the Khavda Solar Park in 2027, which is expected to become the world's largest renewable energy park by 2029, with a generation capacity of 30 GW. Delectrik previously deployed a smaller 3 MWh version of the same product at NTPC's Greater Noida facility in 2025.
Dr. Vishal Mittal, Founder and CEO of Delectrik, stated: "This will be the first non-lithium utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) project deployed in India, and also the first project of this scale to be 100% designed, engineered, and manufactured in India."
Delectrik aims to secure at least 1 GWh of flow battery capacity orders across India, Australia, ASEAN, Africa, and several other regions within the next 12 months.
