en.Wedoany.com Reported - India's Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) has adjusted the settlement cycle for surplus energy charges for grid-connected rooftop solar consumers from quarterly to monthly, and released the latest installation data for its southern distribution area. As of June, a total of 36,963 buildings across nine districts in Andhra Pradesh had installed rooftop solar systems, with a combined generation capacity of 128 MW.

APSPDCL settles based on consumers' electricity consumption and surplus generation. In June, the company directly credited 8,388,000 Indian rupees (approximately $83,880) to consumers for surplus energy charges; in July, it earmarked 6,840,000 Indian rupees (approximately $68,400) for corresponding credits. Previously, consumers' surplus solar bills were settled every three months; they are now settled on a monthly basis.

Siva Sankar Lotheti, Chairman and Managing Director of APSPDCL, stated that this accelerated settlement process will provide transparent billing handling for solar consumers. The aforementioned rooftop solar systems are part of the company's renewable energy program, designed to serve consumers participating in the initiative.
