en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Radici Group recently formally notified unions of its restructuring plan for the production site in Novara, northern Italy. The site, operated by the group's subsidiary Radici Chimica, is the core plant in the group's fully vertically integrated PA66 value chain, and its PA66 products also serve as a key raw material source for the company's compounding business.

Under the restructuring plan, three chemical units at the site—adipic acid, nitric acid, and MAB—will be shut down, all of which are intermediate production lines in the PA66 manufacturing chain. The Novara plant currently employs nearly 300 people, and this capacity adjustment is expected to affect 140 jobs.

The group stated that the Novara plant has recorded significant losses for three consecutive years. The operational pressure stems mainly from several factors: intense market competition driven by low-cost capacity in Asia's nylon supply chain; persistently high energy and raw material prices in Europe; and weakening demand in the three major downstream end-use sectors—automotive, textiles, and construction—resulting in structural softness.

Following a comprehensive assessment, the adipic acid production line at the site is no longer considered viable for a turnaround. The group has chosen to shut down inefficient units in order to concentrate resources on managing the remaining operations at the site and employee placement.
