en.Wedoany.com Reported - A 1.022 megawatt (MW) run-of-river hydroelectric project in the Scottish Highlands is being listed for sale. The project is already operational and has secured feed-in tariff (FiT) support running until December 2033.

The station, named Allt Doe, is located on the Glendoe Estate near Fort Augustus on the southeastern shore of Loch Ness. It was commissioned in December 2013 and generates an average annual output of 2.52 GWh. Operating profit for 2027 is projected at approximately £700,000.

The station has a total installed capacity of 1,022 kilowatts (kW) and is equipped with two Gilkes turbines. The main turbine, G1, has recently been refurbished, while the smaller G2 turbine can continue generating during periods of low river flow.

Calum Innes, a partner at independent property consultancy Galbraith, stated that this is an efficient hydroelectric project with a capacity exceeding 1 MW and a strong track record, supported by government feed-in tariff policy over an extended period. The main turbine has recently been refurbished, and the smaller turbine can continue generating when flows diminish.

The project is currently managed by Green Highland Renewables, which conducts monthly inspections and provides remote diagnostic monitoring. The sale is proposed via a 30-year leasehold with a nominal rent.

Sales information indicates that the asset may appeal to existing hydroelectric investors looking to expand their portfolios, family offices seeking income-generating renewable energy assets, and power users aiming to secure their own renewable electricity supply. A portion of the station's output is supplied locally via a dedicated line, with the potential to sell at prices above wholesale electricity rates, generating additional revenue.
