en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 5, South Korean listed company Woori Technology announced that its subsidiary Wave Jeongeup has completed the first shipment of 220 tons of naphtha-grade recycled feedstock. The product, made from waste plastic, was processed at production facilities in Jeongeup, North Jeolla Province, South Korea, shipped via Gwangyang Port, and delivered to overseas petrochemical companies through the supply chain of global commodity trading firm Trafigura.

This shipment corresponds to the supply contract of up to 15,000 tons signed by Wave Jeongeup in June this year. Woori Technology stated that production of subsequent batches has already begun, with an additional export of approximately 300 tons expected as early as September this year. The first shipment was loaded into 11 ISO tank containers and is scheduled to arrive at Pasir Gudang Port in Malaysia on August 17.

The Wave Jeongeup production facility was jointly built by Woori Technology and resource recycling company City Oil Field, completed in November 2025, with an annual production capacity of approximately 4,550 tons. The facility employs a non-combustion low-temperature decomposition process to convert waste plastic into naphtha-grade recycled feedstock, which can be used as circular feedstock in petrochemical production processes.

The production facility has obtained relevant quality and performance certifications from the Korea Testing Laboratory, as well as Process Safety Management System certification and ISCC PLUS international sustainability and carbon certification. Under the current supply arrangement, Wave Jeongeup will gradually expand its recycled feedstock export scale through Trafigura.
