en.Wedoany.com Reported - IsoEnergy and DISA will establish a new U.S. uranium company, DISA Uranium, which plans to combine IsoEnergy's portfolio of idled conventional uranium mines in Utah with DISA's High-Pressure Slurry Abrasion (HPSA) processing technology and remediation and recovery operations.

DISA Uranium has secured $105 million in funding commitments from a consortium including Tembo Capital, BHP Ventures, Galvanize Climate Solutions, Valor Equity Partners, Evok Innovations, Halliburton Labs, and Veriten. IsoEnergy will hold approximately 33% of the new company and participate in $33 million of the funding. The capital will be used to advance conventional mine development, remediation and recovery projects, domestic uranium processing infrastructure, and the company's long-term growth. IsoEnergy's asset portfolio includes the Tony M Mine, Daneros Mine, Rim Mine, Sage Plain Project, and Flatiron Project.
Philip Williams, CEO of IsoEnergy, stated that combining permitted and previously producing Utah assets with HPSA technology can improve project economics, expand the range of viable conventional uranium resources, and support domestic processing infrastructure; at a time when the U.S. is refocusing on nuclear energy, energy security, and reshoring the nuclear fuel supply chain, this partnership is both timely and differentiated. Greyson Buckingham, CEO of DISA Uranium, noted that most of the uranium the U.S. needs has already been mined and sits in waste piles across the West; remediating abandoned mine sites and recovering uranium and vanadium is the core of the company's business and the reason it holds the only license of its kind from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC); HPSA can upgrade feed grades at mine sites, reducing transportation and processing volumes and improving the economics of conventional assets, while combining recovered materials with scaled conventional resources has the potential to feed new domestic uranium recovery and processing facilities, filling a missing link in rebuilding an independent U.S. nuclear fuel supply chain.
The NRC accepted DISA's license application last April, which covers the use of its technology to remediate abandoned mine waste at idle sites. The patented HPSA technology is a mechanical process that utilizes inter-particle collisions and is based on the Mohs hardness differential between gangue and target minerals to selectively liberate target minerals, and can be used to upgrade critical mineral grades from mined ore and legacy waste.
There are more than 15,000 sites associated with abandoned uranium mine waste in the western U.S., most stemming from Cold War-era mining activities, many located on or near tribal lands, where options for safely treating or containing contaminants have been limited and costly. HPSA reportedly offers a scalable approach that can separate and decontaminate materials at the source, making uranium recovery possible while significantly reducing the volume of material requiring long-term disposal. The NRC license allows DISA to deploy its High-Pressure Slurry Abrasion systems across multiple states under federal oversight to treat abandoned uranium mine waste. The two companies stated upon announcing DISA Uranium that HPSA has moved beyond the pilot stage and achieved commercial validation.
Prior to closing the transaction, DISA will spin off its non-uranium and non-vanadium mineral processing operations into a standalone business, DISA Tech.
