en.Wedoany.com Reported - Decade Resources has mobilized a drill rig to commence first-phase exploration at the Bonaparte copper-gold project, located approximately 50 kilometers north of Kamloops, British Columbia (BC), Canada.
The Bonaparte project comprises four mineral claims totaling 4,149.63 hectares, situated within the Kamloops Mining District. The property hosts geological potential for copper/gold/molybdenum porphyry mineralization, large-tonnage gold systems associated with reduced intrusive rocks, and high-grade gold-copper epithermal veins.
The first phase is planned to consist of six drill holes totaling 3,000 meters, using equipment capable of drilling to depths of at least 500 meters and recovering NQ-size core. Drill hole placement prioritizes overlapping anomalies identified through mobile metal ion surveys, soil geochemistry, and geophysical methods including induced polarization (IP) and resistivity.
The first drill hole will evaluate a polarization anomaly beneath the Discovery zone; the second hole, located approximately 500 meters east of the first, will test further geophysical anomalies. Final locations for the remaining holes will be determined after results from the first two holes are received.
The company has engaged Indigenous-owned contractor Brush and Shine to provide fire watch services during drilling operations. The company is headquartered in Kamloops and is owned by members of the Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc Nation.
The Bonaparte project retains records of earlier exploration. In 1994, surface trenching of multiple vein systems collected a 3,700-tonne bulk sample averaging 25.4 grams of gold per tonne, yielding 3,160 ounces; in 2010, a 364-tonne sample from the Crow Vein returned a gold grade of 16.3 g/t, producing 161.95 ounces.
Decade Resources President Ed Kruchkowski noted that in late July, a contract sampling crew completed a soil sampling survey south of the delineated IP anomaly, collecting more than 750 soil samples and 30 rock samples. He said the rock samples were cut with a diamond saw to obtain smooth study surfaces; examination revealed that many are hornfels, a fine-grained metamorphic rock with no obvious foliation, formed by baking from the heat of nearby magma.
In April 2025, the company received approval from the TSX Venture Exchange to acquire the North Mitchell project in the "Golden Triangle" region of northwestern British Columbia as a strategic land holding.
