en.Wedoany.com Reported - Medallion Metals has commenced its first helicopter-borne electromagnetic survey at its Ravensthorpe Gold Project in Western Australia, aimed at discovering new gold-copper sulphide deposits along a highly prospective regional corridor. The survey covers approximately 120 square kilometres and is planned to acquire up to 1,245 line-kilometres of airborne data across the Mt Cattlin–Kundip–Trilogy corridor, marking the first project-wide application of airborne electromagnetics since 2010. The results will be used to identify conductive sulphide targets and inform exploration and drilling programs for 2026 and 2027.

The airborne electromagnetic survey builds on existing exploration results at the Kundip mining centre. Previous drilling and down-hole electromagnetic surveys have shown that Kundip's high-grade gold-copper-silver mineralisation is closely associated with conductive sulphides such as pyrrhotite, chalcopyrite, and pyrite. Medallion Managing Director Paul Bennett said the recent success of down-hole electromagnetic surveys at Kundip has given the company confidence to deploy airborne electromagnetics across the broader Ravensthorpe area. He noted that the Mt Cattlin to Trilogy corridor covered by the project is highly prospective, providing a rapid and cost-effective means of identifying additional sulphide targets and prioritising drilling.
Mr. Bennett further stated that, as Ravensthorpe development progresses, the survey is expected to further demonstrate the dominant and strategic value of the company's landholding in this area prospective for gold-copper mineralisation. He also acknowledged the support of the Western Australian Government through the Exploration Incentive Scheme, which he believes recognises the technical merit of the project.
During the survey, electromagnetic, magnetic, and very-low-frequency data will be integrated with Medallion's existing geological, geochemical, and geophysical information. The combined results will be used to refine targets and investigate potential extensions of known mineralisation. Line spacing is 50 metres around Kundip, with 100-metre and 200-metre spacing applied in select areas. Expert Geophysics will operate the survey using its Target EM26 helicopter-borne time-domain electromagnetic system.
Data acquisition is scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2026, with processing to be carried out in the third and fourth quarters. Medallion plans to complete data interpretation and generate priority exploration targets in the fourth quarter, followed by ground electromagnetic surveys and drill testing.
The Western Australian Government has allocated A$135,000 to the project through the Exploration Incentive Scheme, covering 50% of direct survey costs. This grant brings Medallion's total co-funding for new geophysical and seismic projects under the Exploration Incentive Scheme to A$310,274.
