Great Pacific Gold Expands Southern Targets at Wild Dog Project in Papua New Guinea

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 13, Canadian mining company Great Pacific Gold announced the latest exploration results from the Wild Dog gold-copper project in Papua New Guinea. Geological mapping and continuous trenching indicate that mineralization at the southern Elamaraka and Kargalio vein systems extends significantly beyond the historical exploration area, and the company has simultaneously initiated the first systematic exploration of the area further south.

The Wild Dog project is located in East New Britain Province, centered on an approximately 15-kilometer-long epithermal gold-copper metallogenic structural corridor. This exploration campaign focuses on the EK target, approximately 2 kilometers southwest of the Sinivit deposit.

Continuous trenching at the Elamaraka vein system returned 9 meters at 4.81 g/t gold and 41.96 g/t silver, with individual intervals peaking at 26.86 g/t gold and 233.4 g/t silver; another interval returned 8.72 g/t gold and 53.9 g/t silver. Multiple newly discovered quartz-sulfide veins on the periphery returned 4.22 g/t, 1.20 g/t, and 1.05 g/t gold respectively, indicating that this target may consist of multiple parallel veins rather than a single historical vein.

Trenching at the Kargalio vein system returned 6 meters at 7.29 g/t gold, 12.83 g/t silver, and 0.24% copper, including 2 meters at 16.20 g/t gold. Another 6-meter trench sample approximately 40 meters south of the main high-grade zone returned 2.85 g/t gold, 8.20 g/t silver, and 0.15% copper. Approximately 260 meters east of the main vein, the company also discovered a new quartz-sulfide-clay breccia zone returning approximately 10 meters at 1.77 g/t gold.

MobileMT geophysical data has identified a west-dipping, high-resistivity structure beneath Elamaraka with an interpreted depth of approximately 450 meters, of which approximately 160 meters lies within the inferred precious metal metallogenic zone. The corresponding high-resistivity anomaly at Kargalio extends approximately 800 meters along strike with an interpreted depth of approximately 420 meters, providing deep-targeting guidance for subsequent drill hole placement.

Great Pacific Gold has constructed a new exploration road south of the EK target, and the geological team has begun mapping and rock chip sampling at targets including Lost Dog, Steel Creek, Cut-hand Creek, Muruk, and Regess. The company currently has two diamond drill rigs deployed at the Wild Dog project, and will prioritize drill locations along the southern corridor based on pending assay results, structural interpretation, and road advancement progress.

The data released to date is primarily derived from surface trench samples, rock chip samples, and geophysical interpretation, which cannot yet replace drill hole verification and does not constitute a compliant mineral resource estimate. The project remains in the regional exploration and drill target generation stage, with a considerable timeline remaining before feasibility studies, construction decisions, and mining and processing procurement.
