NeoTerra Selects PFS Contractor for Mozambique Rare Earth Project, Launching in September

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 20, London-listed African critical minerals exploration and development company NeoTerra Group PLC (LSE: TERA) announced that it has selected Valentine Enterprises to lead the pre-feasibility study for its Monte Muambe rare earth project in Tete Province, Mozambique. The study is funded by a US$1.875 million grant from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). The contractor appointment is subject to final USTDA approval, which is expected to be obtained shortly.

Valentine Enterprises is a U.S.-based consulting and professional services firm, with the study team also including SGS North America Inc and New Dominion Consulting LLC. SGS North America is responsible for critical mineral metallurgy, mineral testing, process engineering, and project development; New Dominion Consulting is responsible for supply chain, sustainability, procurement, and operations. NeoTerra CEO Cédric Simonet stated that the team brings USTDA project delivery experience, African mining expertise, and critical mineral commercialization capabilities.

The study is expected to commence next month, beginning with a kick-off meeting and site visit, followed by short-duration drilling to obtain representative metallurgical samples. The Monte Muambe project holds a 25-year mining license. NeoTerra reports JORC-compliant Mineral Resource estimates of: 13.6 million tonnes of ore at 2.42% total rare earth oxides (TREO), 3.48 million tonnes of ore at 20.6% fluorite (CaF₂), and 11.73 million tonnes of ore at 54.7 g/t gallium oxide (Ga₂O₃).

NeoTerra, formerly known as Altona Rare Earths, completed its name change on June 22, 2026. In addition to the Monte Muambe project in Mozambique, the company holds the Sesana copper-silver project in Botswana. Following the pre-feasibility study, the project will still need to advance to a definitive feasibility study, secure mine development funding, and sign offtake agreements.
