en.Wedoany.com Reported - Australian graphite exploration and processing company InVert Graphite Limited (ASX: IVG) has completed the acquisition of RapidGraphite Pty Ltd, securing exclusive global rights to the RapidPulse graphite processing technology, and has immediately commenced larger-scale battery-grade graphite trials.

Developed by Curtin University, the RapidPulse technology is a catalytic graphitization process that rapidly converts natural graphite into battery-grade high-purity graphite material without the need for strong acids such as hydrofluoric acid.Early test results indicate that the technology achieves approximately 99% acid-free purification, with the degree of graphitization increasing from about 90.7% to 98.8%.The process can also handle fine graphite particles typically discarded during spheroidization, potentially nearly doubling product recovery rates.

RapidGraphite holds a 15-year exclusive license to the RapidPulse technology, and through this acquisition, InVert has brought the intellectual property in-house.Following the acquisition, the company has activated the pre-pilot Centorr furnace at Curtin University, which can process samples of up to 1 kilogram, marking the technology's transition from laboratory validation (Technology Readiness Level TRL 4) to the scale-up trial stage.InVert has simultaneously completed an A$2.5 million placement to support the scale-up trials.

InVert Managing Director Andrew Lawson stated that achieving approximately 99% acid-free purification is a significant early signal, and if validated through subsequent trials, it will enable a cleaner and higher-yield graphite processing pathway. The company plans to verify the process's repeatability through scale-up trials before advancing to product validation with battery customers.

InVert's core asset is the 100%-owned Morogoro Graphite Project in Tanzania, and this acquisition enables the company to integrate upstream resources with downstream processing technology, building a vertically integrated battery-grade graphite supply chain.
