India's GAIL Plans to Build LNG Bunkering Facility at Kandla Port
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 21, India's natural gas company GAIL (India) Limited signed a tripartite cooperation agreement with the Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) and the Norwegian classification society DNV to explore the establishment of an LNG bunkering facility at Kandla Port (Deendayal Port) in India.

The cooperation will integrate GAIL's operational experience in the LNG sector, DPA's port infrastructure resources, and DNV's global technical expertise in maritime safety and LNG bunkering. The three parties will jointly explore development solutions for LNG bunkering infrastructure, supply chains, safety frameworks, and operational ecosystems.
The agreement was signed at Kandla by DPA Chairman Sushil Kumar, GAIL Gujarat Regional Office Zonal Chief General Manager Anant Khobragade, and DNV India Maritime Advisory Business Leader Ajay Kumar Singh. GAIL announced the cooperation via social media on August 23.
The project is currently still in the early stage of cooperation and assessment, with details such as the facility's LNG storage capacity, bunkering throughput, investment amount, and construction timeline yet to be disclosed.
