Latam Airlines to Launch New Route from Salvador, Brazil to Santiago, Chile in January 2027

en.Wedoany.com Reported - Latam Airlines has announced a new direct flight route from Salvador to Santiago, Chile, scheduled to begin operations on January 3, 2027, reducing travel time between the two cities by approximately three hours compared to existing connecting options.

The route will initially operate three times weekly during the peak summer season. Flights departing from Salvador take off at 21:15 on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, arriving in Santiago at 3:00 the following day; the return flights depart at 4:30 on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, arriving at the capital of Bahia at 10:00. Starting in March, the route frequency will be adjusted to once weekly.

The flights will be operated with Airbus A320 family aircraft, featuring a cabin configuration that includes Premium Economy and Economy classes. Tickets go on sale this Saturday (the 29th).

The new route is part of Latam Airlines' plan to expand its international operations in northeastern Brazil. For the 2026/2027 summer peak season, the company also plans to launch seasonal flights from Natal and Maceió to Buenos Aires, with three weekly frequencies on each route, and increase flights from Recife to the Argentine capital from one to four weekly. Additionally, between November 2026 and March 2027, flights from Fortaleza to Lisbon will be increased to five weekly.
