en.Wedoany.com Reported - Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has won a bulk procurement order for 765kV transformers from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), with a contract value of approximately INR 5.1456 billion (5.1456 billion rupees). The project corresponds to 765kV Transformer Package 7TR-21-BULK, and the scope of the award includes 23 units of 500MVA, 765/400kV single-phase transformers.

The project falls under POWERGRID's Lot-7 bulk procurement plan for 765kV and 400kV class transformers and reactors, with tender reference number CC/NT/W-TR/DOM/A10/26/04369, applicable across India. POWERGRID issued the tender on March 26, conducted through domestic competitive bidding with a single-stage, two-envelope process.

According to bid information published by POWERGRID, a total of four companies responded and passed the qualification review for this package: BHEL, CG Power and Industrial Solutions Limited, GE Vernova T&D India Limited, and Siemens Energy India Limited. The reference to "five qualified bidders" in related reports is inconsistent with the records on POWERGRID's tendering platform; the official version follows the four bidders as published by POWERGRID.

The procurement scope also includes associated insulating oil and mandatory spare parts, and the equipment will be used in multiple POWERGRID transmission projects. POWERGRID's Lot-7 bulk procurement covers both projects under the regulated tariff mechanism and those under tariff-based competitive bidding. The contract for 7TR-21-BULK was awarded on August 24.
