en.Wedoany.com Reported - On August 27, Swedish specialty materials manufacturer Alleima and Airbus expanded their existing aviation materials supply partnership, establishing an arrangement with the longest commitment period in their collaboration history. The new agreement will broaden the scope of Alleima's titanium alloy seamless tube supply to Airbus aircraft programs, while continuing existing stainless steel tube supply. Neither party disclosed the specific term, purchase volumes, or contract value of the agreement.

The supply partnership between Alleima and Airbus dates back to the early days of Airbus's founding, spanning more than 50 years. The new addition focuses on advanced titanium alloy seamless tubes, which, together with the existing stainless steel seamless tube supply, will cover relevant Airbus aircraft programs. Alleima's titanium alloy and stainless steel materials used in the aviation sector primarily serve onboard tubing systems such as hydraulic systems, oxygen lines, and fuel systems.

Alleima's aerospace tubes are currently produced at manufacturing sites in the United States, Germany, and China, with primary melting and tube billet production handled by the integrated Sandviken facility in Sweden. The company operates a titanium tube manufacturing base in Kennewick, USA, primarily serving aerospace and other sectors; its Werther plant in Germany also has titanium tube production capabilities. Its titanium tube products range from 9.53 to 38.1 mm in outer diameter with wall thicknesses of 0.7 to 5 mm, available in both straight tubes and U-bent tubes.

Within its aviation tube product portfolio, Alleima supplies stainless steel and nickel-based alloy tubes in addition to titanium alloys. Its aerospace precision tubes typically cover outer diameters from 0.25 to 50.80 mm and comply with aerospace material specifications such as AMS depending on material and application; some stainless steel seamless tubes are used in aircraft airframes and engine components.

Alleima has supplied aviation-grade alloys, seamless tubes, and related engineered products to the aerospace and space industries for more than 70 years. This agreement continues its existing stainless steel tube supply while expanding the scope of titanium alloy seamless tube supply for Airbus aircraft programs.
