Tunisia's container throughput rises 9% to 278,000 TEUs in H1 2026

en.Wedoany.com Reported - In the first half of 2026, Tunisia's container ports handled 278,000 TEUs, up 9% from 255,500 TEUs in the same period of 2025. This data was released by DynaLiners.

Tunisia's container port throughput showed a divergent trend. The Port of Radès remained the largest container port, handling 176,400 TEUs, accounting for 63% of the national total, up 6% year-on-year; the Port of Sfax handled 57,800 TEUs, up 5%; the Port of Sousse grew 20% to 35,300 TEUs; the Port of Bizerte recorded the fastest growth, with throughput rising from 4,400 TEUs to 8,200 TEUs, an increase of 86%; the Port of La Goulette remained unchanged at 200 TEUs.

In terms of market share, the Port of Radès accounted for 63%, the Port of Sfax 21%, the Port of Sousse 13%, the Port of Bizerte 3%, and the Port of La Goulette 0%.

Looking at the first-half data of the past three years for each port, the Port of Bizerte recorded 5,600, 4,400, and 8,200 TEUs from 2024 to 2026, respectively; the Port of La Goulette remained at 200 TEUs across all three years; the Port of Radès recorded 150,600, 166,500, and 176,400 TEUs, respectively; the Port of Sfax recorded 47,200, 55,100, and 57,800 TEUs, respectively; the Port of Sousse recorded 25,500, 29,400, and 35,300 TEUs, respectively; the totals were 229,200, 255,500, and 278,000 TEUs, respectively.
