en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 1, BYD Semiconductor announced the launch of its next-generation automotive-grade 4D millimeter-wave radar chip. Based on a mature 28nm automotive process, the chip integrates 8 transmit channels and 8 receive channels, adopts a satellite architecture design, and is equipped with an MIPI CSI-2 high-speed interface. It has completed joint debugging and adaptation with BYD's self-developed intelligent driving chip "Xuanji A3."

In terms of performance, the chip achieves stable detection at ultra-long distances exceeding 400 meters, 0.8° horizontal angular resolution, and 0.05-meter parking-grade distance resolution, covering L2 to L4 intelligent driving applications, including highway pilot, urban road driving, automatic parking, and blind spot detection scenarios. Regarding RF performance, the single-channel transmit power is 13.5dBm, the receive noise figure is as low as 11dB, and the phase noise reaches -98dBc/Hz@1MHz in the 76~77GHz mode. The chip is designed in accordance with the ISO 26262 ASIL B functional safety standard, with an operating junction temperature range of -40~150°C, meeting AEC-Q100 automotive reliability requirements.

BYD Semiconductor stated that the launch of this chip is an important step in perfecting its intelligent driving perception product portfolio and building a full-scenario intelligent perception ecosystem. The company will subsequently release products such as 4T4R MMIC, 6T6R SOC, and UWB SOC to further enrich its intelligent perception chip lineup. BYD Semiconductor noted that in the second half of the intelligentization race, this chip provides an independently controllable "Chinese chip" for intelligent assisted driving through core technology, helping accelerate the deployment of advanced intelligent driving. Going forward, BYD Semiconductor will continue to deepen collaboration with industry partners to promote the popularization and reliability enhancement of perception technology.
