LightSolver's Laser Processing Unit (LPU) is an all-optical computing platform that leverages the physical interactions of lasers to perform computations. Unlike conventional approaches, the LPU does not rely on electronic transistors to move data between processors and memory. Instead, it maps mathematical problems onto an optical system, allowing a large number of variables to interact simultaneously. Since light itself serves as the computing medium, the platform can execute massively parallel computations at significantly higher speeds and energy efficiency.

LightSolver's quantum-inspired architecture delivers several advantages of physics-based, highly parallel computing on a room-temperature platform, while circumventing many of the practical limitations associated with quantum computing. The platform targets accelerated solutions for large-scale linear systems, optimization problems, and partial differential equations (PDEs)—mathematical methods that underpin fields such as robotics, physical AI, weather forecasting, plasma physics, chip design, new materials and drug discovery, as well as real-time mission-critical decision-making.

LightSolver has advanced from the basic research stage into practical validation with leading global organizations. The company recently established a strategic financial and engineering partnership with Boeing, a funded collaboration focused on developing and adapting LPU technology to accelerate complex physics-based aerospace simulations, particularly targeting degradation-driven structural effects that determine asset lifespan and maintenance schedules. These simulations execute orders of magnitude faster than traditional GPU clusters, addressing lifecycle challenges valued in the trillions of dollars.

Meanwhile, LightSolver is working with several world-leading software engineering tool companies to deploy its photonic computing for mission-critical workloads such as advanced mechanical design, structural analysis, fluid dynamics, and multiphysics simulations, demonstrating speed and efficiency gains in compute-intensive engineering and physical AI applications. Several major aerospace and defense design partners are also using the platform to solve high-intensity computational optimization and simulation problems. These collaborations indicate that the technology is approaching full market integration, with broad and high-impact commercial viability across mission-critical domains.

The acquisition is structured with equity as the core consideration, specifically: an initial consideration of 3,734,476 newly issued ordinary shares, representing 19.7% of CollPlant's issued and outstanding share capital prior to the signing of the definitive agreement; pre-funded warrants to purchase an aggregate of 6,134,363 ordinary shares; three tranches of milestone warrants to purchase an aggregate of 224,078,345 ordinary shares at an exercise price of $0.00001 per share; and certain LightSolver option holders will receive CollPlant rollover options to purchase an aggregate of 2,261,966 ordinary shares.
