PetroChina's First Three "Oil-to-Electric" Integrated Energy Stations in Hong Kong Put into Operation
en.Wedoany.com Reported - PetroChina International (Hong Kong) Corporation Limited has fully opened electric vehicle (EV) charging services at its three integrated energy stations in Repulse Bay, Ho Man Tin, and Fanling, marking the completion and commissioning of PetroChina's first batch of "oil-to-electric" conversion projects in Hong Kong. Among them, the Repulse Bay and Ho Man Tin stations officially commenced operations on July 10, with the Fanling station subsequently becoming the company's third integrated energy station in Hong Kong to add charging services to a traditional fuel station.

All three stations were converted from PetroChina's existing fuel stations. The Repulse Bay station is equipped with one 240kW dual-gun ultra-fast charging pile; the Ho Man Tin station features two 120kW dual-gun ultra-fast charging piles along with photovoltaic power generation facilities; and the Fanling station is equipped with one 240kW dual-gun ultra-fast charging pile, providing two charging parking spaces. Upon the commissioning of the Repulse Bay and Ho Man Tin stations, PetroChina also confirmed that the ultra-fast charging equipment at both stations adopts a dual-standard adaptation scheme covering both the Chinese national standard (GB/T) and the European standard (CCS2), capable of serving both European-standard EV models in Hong Kong and mainland China's GB/T-standard electric vehicles.
The Ho Man Tin station is PetroChina's first integrated energy station in Hong Kong to simultaneously provide fuel, LPG, and EV charging services. After the conversion, all three stations continue to retain their original fuel sales and convenience store operations, with fast EV charging facilities added on-site. This conversion also marks PetroChina's first move to extend its Hong Kong EV charging business from commercial parking lots to its own fuel station network. The company previously commissioned a charging station at MegaBox shopping mall in July 2024, and successively launched charging stations at the parking lots of Central Plaza and Ping Shek Estate Commercial Centre in early 2026.
In 2023, the Hong Kong SAR Government adjusted its land lease policy for fuel stations, allowing and encouraging existing stations to add EV charging facilities while promoting the gradual transformation of traditional fuel stations into fast-charging stations or integrated energy supply facilities. The government subsequently invited fuel station operators to submit conversion proposals for fast-charging facilities; the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department also issued technical guidelines in 2024 for EV charging facilities at LPG filling stations, setting requirements for the design and risk assessment of such facilities.
As of February 2026, Hong Kong's first oil-electricity station converted from a traditional fuel station had commenced operations in Diamond Hill, equipped with two 120kW high-speed charging piles. PetroChina's three stations in Repulse Bay, Ho Man Tin, and Fanling subsequently completed their conversions, enabling the company's own fuel station network in Hong Kong to begin operating a model where different refueling methods—including fuel, LPG, and EV charging—operate in parallel.
