en.Wedoany.com Reported - Heerema Marine Contractors has completed the installation of foundations for 100 wind turbines and jackets for two offshore substations at the Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farms in Poland. The installation work was carried out for the project developed by the Equinor and Polenergia joint venture.

The Bałtyk 2 and Bałtyk 3 offshore wind farms are located in the Polish Baltic Sea area, with a combined installed capacity of 1.44 GW, 720 MW each. The two wind farms will feature a total of 100 wind turbines of the 14.4 MW class, with tower heights of approximately 260 meters. Bałtyk 2 is located approximately 37 kilometers off the Polish coast, while Bałtyk 3 is approximately 22 kilometers offshore.

The foundation installation campaign commenced in May 2026, with an offshore construction period of four months. Heerema carried out the work using the semi-submersible crane vessel Thialf and a support fleet of approximately 35 vessels. The scope of installation comprised a total of 100 monopiles, 100 transition pieces, and jackets for two offshore substations. The monopiles range from approximately 50 to 70 meters in length, and the transition pieces are approximately 17 meters high.

Heerema plans to return to the Baltic Sea in the winter of 2026 to install the Bałtyk 2 offshore substation, followed by the Bałtyk 3 offshore substation in the summer of 2027. The two wind farms are scheduled to generate first power in 2027 and reach full commercial operation in 2028, after which they are expected to meet the electricity demand of approximately 2 million Polish households.
