Marquise Ambiental Takes Over Solid Waste Disposal in Guaiúba with Daily Processing Capacity of About 30 Tons
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 3, Marquise Ambiental began handling the transfer and final disposal of municipal solid waste in Guaiúba, Ceará, Brazil. Previously, waste generated locally was mainly sent to open-air dumps; after the new system went into operation, household waste first enters the newly established Waste Transfer Station (ETR), and is then transported in batches to the EcoHub Sol Nascente waste treatment complex in Aquiraz. The transfer station has a designed daily processing capacity of about 30 tons and has now been officially integrated into Guaiúba's solid waste management system.

This operation is not a standalone waste collection service, but corresponds to the procurement for final disposal of household waste previously initiated by Guaiúba. According to the procurement platform of the Court of Auditors of Ceará State, the Infrastructure and Housing Department of Guaiúba launched the relevant procedure in May 2026, with the procurement content being the transport of municipal solid waste to a licensed sanitary landfill for final disposal. The winning bidder was Marquise Serviços Ambientais, with a contract value of approximately R$ 1,955,900.
Under the new operating plan, Guaiúba's waste will be consolidated and transferred at the ETR. The transfer station can consolidate waste delivered by multiple collection vehicles into larger transport units before sending it to EcoHub Sol Nascente. Marquise Ambiental stated that in addition to serving Guaiúba, the facility is also capable of receiving waste from other neighboring municipalities, increasing per-trip transport volume through consolidated transfer. The company currently operates similar transfer and solid waste treatment facilities in Osasco (São Paulo State), Amazonas State, the Natal metropolitan area in Rio Grande do Norte, and Fortaleza, among other locations.
Guaiúba has this year advanced efforts to close open-air dumps and restructure its household waste disposal system. The local government launched the "Guaiúba Sem Lixão" program in June, followed by continued measures on waste sorting and solid waste management; with the commissioning of the transfer station and downstream treatment facilities, the previous open-air dumping approach has shifted to an operating model of "transfer station consolidation – cross-regional transport – final disposal at licensed treatment facilities."
In Aquiraz, where EcoHub Sol Nascente is located, Marquise Ambiental is also involved in operating local solid waste facilities. Procurement records from Ceará State show that the company previously secured contracts related to public road cleaning, waste treatment, and sanitary landfill operations in Aquiraz. With Guaiúba now connected to this treatment system, the final disposal of its household waste will directly leverage the existing regional solid waste treatment infrastructure.
